Rant 1oo1

One of the things that make me... well, me... is as follows:

I'm not so into the fickle ones.

Fickles ones. You know the type. This minute they are" all in" over here, then the next they're way over there "all about" something that totally conflicts with last minute's fancy.

What happened to the days when someone stood by their values. I miss the days when one could count on people to keep true to their faith, keep their standard, keep their job, keep their word, keep their ... (you get the idea).

The truth is some things NEED to change - Mrs Smith's hairdo, for example. Also, your walk with Christ should change but in a good way. It should grow deeper and stronger, not grow shallow and weak. There are some things that should not change - loyalty, honesty, integrity. When those things change they become   Dishonest, Disloyal, No Integrity. These are the things you either are or are not.

Okay - behind this rant is my pain. My personal experience with people being unloyal, dishonest, and lacking in integrity. So from personl experience here's my mantra, "it really STINKS when all of the sudden people that you've trusted, depended/counted on are no longer trust worthy or dependable. I mean REALLY STINKS!"

Seriously... it really stinks!

Happy Memorial Day

My focus this year is to pray for the families that are grieving the loss(es) of loved ones for the mission and vision of freedom. Will you join me in lifting these families, whether known or unknown to you, before the Lord?

With GOD...

This verse shows us a contrast between the human perspective and that which is visible to God. It is likely that this young ruler felt that he was good and saw himself as living a life of honor to God. Likely, he was respected by his community and enjoyed good relationships. He was, after all, in a leadership role that pointed people to God. Yet, God was able to see what he and others could not see hidden deep within his heart.  We should applaud this leader's courage. Not many would have approached Jesus to ask for such accountability. Whether this leader asked to receive kudos, or if he asked because he could sense he was missing something, when Jesus pointed out what he could do he left sorrowful. Perhaps his desire to protect and shield himself through his wealth was overwhelmingly important. Understandable, right? Whatever the case, this leader walked away in sorrow instead of surrender. Isn't it something how badly the truth can cause us to employ various defenses? We ...
